RP is great way to kill my headaches and make friends, but I'm sick of drifting through one chat room after another dealing with a million idiots and bots. I've tried web searches, but that didn't work out so well....Can anybody share a good place to find serious RPers?

I suggest checking out www.thefinalfantasy.com/forums it is a fairly active forum site that has an RP board with very experianced and dedicated RPers, it's a bonus if you like final fantasy but there are many topics upon the forum that are unrelated to Final Fantasy.

It depends on the genre and play style. If you're interested in a science-fiction RPG that's been around for over ten years, I suggest Freelance Reploids. It's discussion-board based, so if your experience is with chat-based RPGs it's not quite what you're used to. It's kind of like an ongoing story in which the players take turns writing the next chapter.
