Answer to Question One:

Presently, Anchor Bay Entertainment owns the rights to all of the films distributed in the U.S., under the now defunct New World Pictures; "Godzilla 1985" was released theatrically in the U.S., through New World. Hopefully, in the near future, Anchor Bay will see fit to release the film on DVD, patricularly the original Japanese version (I could do without the Raymond Burr footage; I could barely deal with it, in the original "Godzilla, King of the Monsters").

Answer to the Second Question:

Be of good cheer!!! Classic Media, who has taken the original classic Godzilla films originally distributed and released on DVD by Simitar Films, and packaged them real nice, with loads of extras, as well as both the American & Japanese cuts of each film (the packages for "G vs. Mothra" and "G Raids Again", as well as the original "Gojira" were beautiful), will continue to release these films accordingly; in early June, they will be putting out the original "Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster" and "Invasion of Astro-Monsters" (aka "Monster Zero"). August will see the release of "Frankenstein Conquers the World", "War of the Gargantuas" and "Godzilla's Revenge", once again, each with the American and Japanese cuts. "Terror of Mecha-Godzilla" and "Rodan", the last of the Simitar-released films, will be put out by Classic Media toward the end of the year; hopefully, they'll eventually find and release a pristine cut of the public domain film, "Godzilla vs. Megalon". After they've put all these out, starting the first of the year, they are reportedly planning to commence restoring and releasing the original Japanese versions of the Gamera film, so we won't have to settle for the cheezy television cuts put out on DVD by Retromedia (...wouldn't mind eventually seeing the spliced-together Johnny Socko/Giant Robot film, "Voyage Into Space", or better yet, the series itself!!!).

Answer to the Third Question:

Hands down, my favorite Godzilla film is "Godzilla vs. Monster Zero"; it is so full of classic campy sci-fi kitch. What can you say about a space ship going back and forth to Planet X(?)??? Or how about those aliens decked out in antenna-headed Devo outfits and visors??? Godzilla's jumpity victory dance, after kicking the *** of King Ghidorah on Planet X??? Got a kick out of watching the aliens capture and transport Godzilla and Rodan, from Earth to Planet; in that giant bubble, Rodan looked like a giant roast chicken...and didn't Godzilla look like he was sucking his thumb, while in the bubble??? And what the heck was Nick Adams doing here, and spouting out that corny tough-guy dialogue ("You Stinkin' Rat Bastards!!!); obviously fulfilling a two-picture contract, after starring in the U.S. version of "Frankenstein Conquers the World"!!!

1. That is a good question. I don't know the answer.
2. I believe the intention is to go all the way up, but a lot of it is going to depend on the success of DVD sales for the ones out already. I have read that Godzilla's popularity is back on the rise after a decade decline, and that may bode well for you getting what you want.
3. I like the 1954 original Japanese version the best. The original Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla is my second favorite.
