yes, but no need to brag... THAT would defeat the purpose, wouldn't it?

I did a week's volunteer work with disabled people in Lourdes. I used to volunteer for a whole array of things but haven't since I was a teenager. I guess I've allowed myself to get too wrapped up in my own life.

When I was a teenager, I volunteered at the Elders rest home in my town, I read to anyone who wanted me to, or I played chess (which I hate *smile*) or just sat and listened to their life stories. I did that for 4 years, and now that my kids are in school, I would like to start again. A person can learn a lot from their elders.

Yes I volunteered in a soup kitchen, It was very sad but also rewarding knowing you helped out the needy! I think everyone should try it once just to get a grip on what you really have in life!

I have volunteered myself at my daughter's school to help to take care the school's garden and also to teach the Grade 1 simple English. When I could communicate better in Japanese, I would like to volunteer myself to assist new comers in this language centre. This centre offer all kinds of assistance to foreigners to settle down in Japan.
Cheers!

I volunteered for the purple go. I had to take a number of first help training and as quickly as had to open a momentary disaster safeguard. it relatively is a reasonably good way for every person to make contributions their time and you get fairly some good, useful guidance from the journey.

I love helping people learn to read. I have been doing that for years at the kindergarten through 2-3 grade level. I have also tried with adults but without as much success. My children have also picked up the habit and enjoy reading with children.

Yes - at the veteran's home about 18 miles from where I lived. We wrote letters and whatever else they wanted done,i.e. shopping for a loved one. Itr broke my heart to see their eyes fill with tears at the simplist act of kindness shown them in view of their sacrifice so that we could remain a free nation.
