create a second class of citizens, low paid workers......which is true probably for a minute. but, how long will it be before union groups, the aclu or other liberal idiots to call for the unionization of these illegals so that they cannot be taken advantage of? wont be long before they are making a prevailing wage. at that point, why even keep up the pretense of borders because they clearly have defeated our country without a shot being fired. any other thoughts on this or am i nuts?

It will take some years (20, perhaps, coincidentally it's been 20 years since the last Amnesty) for the current crop of illegals to be 'Americanized' in the sense of becoming too expensive to employ in the jobs they were smuggled here to do. By then, of course, tens of millions of more illegal aliens will have been drawn in by the siren call of Amnesty, and the increasing need for cheap labor to do all the jobs that all the formerly-illegal-immigrants no longer 'want to do' once they've become Americans.

It will be like one of those "Adjustments" we see on wall street. Peoples wages will go down a little and the Illegals will get more and the economy will stabilize. It is a no nothing event really. The out sourcing of technical labor and services will be the end of us all. We need to have in house talent and cheaper will just not do. Low bid work and slim worker benefits are beating the middle class into the ground. We need to act before there is six feet of dirt on the people that made this county great. Sure immigrants need to make a living but we need to sustain the middle class worker more. Corporate greed has to have a ceiling. The profits the management is taking comes right out of the middle class wallet.

There are four things that need to happen in order to have "comprehensive" immigration reform:
1. Close down the borders. Use technological barriers, physical barriers, and more feet on the ground.
2. Deport the illegals who are here. Even if it takes 50 years, not a single one of those people who are here illegally should be given any breaks. In short, they are all criminals and need to be treated as such.
3. Get rid of the "anchor baby" loophole. If at least one of the parents isn't a natural born, or legal citizen, then the child should not be granted citizenship just because they were born on American soil.
4. Cut off ALL social programs, education, and medical care to illegals. Perhaps they will leave on their own if we take away the incentive to stay and we can decrease the burden on American taxpayers at the same time.

This was actually the case when the last immigration compromise was tried. Eventually, all those "low wage workers" disappeared, either by promotion (some of them, anyways), unionization, or not working and collecting welfare. After that, you get another round of "low wage" illegals to come in and take those slots.
Guess what will happen this time? Same exact ***** thing. Until we secure the border, this stupid cycle will repeat itself over and over. Those who do not learn their history are doomed to repeat it.

Mostly nuts. Might want to go ask the Republicans that head this thing why they are pushing for it than. You know....that McCain guy and that Bush guy. The conservative idiots. See this is where logic and being a Republican don't mix. They want to do this for your benefit of cheap labor, however there is no thought process put into the long lasting effect it will have and what it will ultimately create which is what you stated. Are you sure you aren't a liberal, you thought past what they did....that is not very Republican of you to actually think.

there will ALWAYS be a class of low paid workers.
What the "immigration bill" needs to address is the PEOPLE and COMPANIES who hire illegals. Screw the wages. They're illegal! If they want legal wages, become legal immigration status.
BUT the PEOPLE and COMPANIES who hire illegals ARE responsible under the law, and THEY should be punished.
1. Make illegals pay a $5,000 fine.
2. Make the PEOPLE and COMPANIES pay a $500,000 fine for EACH illegal they have paid in the last 5 years.

Youre right.
Yay for those of us at the bottom of the labor pool-we just got quite a bit more competition from people who have no legal right to be here!

THEY HAVE CREATED THE SO CALLED "SECOND CLASS CITIZEN" THEMSELVES. THEY ARE UNDOCUMENTED POOR AND THEY ARE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. HOW CAN THEY SAY THAT THEY WILL BE SECOND CLASS CITIZENS IF THAT'S THE WAY THEY ARE TREATED ALREADY. THEY COME HERE WITH NOTHING THEY LEAVE WITH EVERYTHING AND THEY COMPLAIN. THEY REFUSE TO ADHERE TO AMERICAN LAWS AND THEN DON'T WANT TO BE ARRESTED. THE WHOLE SITUATION CALLS FOR DRASTIC MEASURES. BUILD THE WALL THEY WON'T COME AT LEAST NOT AS FAST AS THEY ARE DOING NOW.

I don't think we'll be 'defeated'. Americans can compete with anyone in the world. We need not fear the competition offered by Mexican immigrants.

A nation that doesn't control its borders isn't much of a nation at all.
It's sad.
