Do you think it would be a good idea to have the Petrol Pumps in UK show what proportion of the fuel cost is tax...so as the price went up you would know who to blame....apparently they have such a thing in America

My point is the petrol has just gone up again this week,,,,if it said on the pump that the tax had gone up its the Govt. if not its the Oil co. and we could go to another company.....

To a point a really good idea but on the other hand what use would it do us, not like there going to let us claim the tax back is it, at the rate its going up we'll be paying a £1 a litre, disgusting or what.

I think it would only tell us what we already know - the government are robbing us when we buy fuel. Would it make a difference though ? You still need the fuel whether you agree with the level of taxation or not.

My dad used to say that he'd stop buying petrol if it hit 20p per litre - he's still driving!

We already know who to blame. The government, we have the highest fuel taxes in Europe if not the world. That is a known fact. There is no need to kick us in the crotch as well as the teeth every time we have to buy fuel.

Yeah, but if it was the oil company by the time you'd drive to another petrol station would it still be worth it

between the government & fuel companies

Yes, they have it here in th U.S., but it makes no difference. The taxes are also posted, but you still need to purchase the fuel regardless.
