1. I played "Voy en picnic y traigo..." It goes through the alphabet and helps them use the words, especially for food vocabulary.
2. My high school Spanish teacher had us write Spanish definitions for Spanish words. It really helps with circumloction. Por ejemplo: ESCUELA -- un lugar donde los estudiantes estudian y profesores les enseñan.

When I was a Spanish teacher, I had the kids copy the vocab words down, then they would be given a plain piece of paper that was divided into nine squares. They had to write the word in Spanish only at the top of the square. They chose nine different words from their list, not in any particular order. Then, in the middle of each square, they drew a picture of the vocab. word. I then wrote each vocab. word on a little piece of paper and we would play bingo with the vocab words!
I also played a game where I would write words all scattered all over the chalkboard. I would divide the class into 2 teams and give each team a fly swatter! They come in different colors and you can get them at a Dollar Store or Walmart. I would call the word out in English, then they would have to find the word on the board in Spanish, and swat it! The team with the most points won!
Another game I played was with magazines. I difided the kids into teams of 4 or 5. Each student was given a magazine (make sure you check them first for any inappropriate things!) and then I would call out the vocab word in Spanish. One person on each team was the captain and when someone on their team found a photo of the vocab word, the captain would get the magazine and raise their hand. Only the captain was allowed to show the picture! I hope these ideas help!

My classes make their own Bingo boards (except it is LO-TE-R-IA). They place vocabulary words on their boards. I call out the English and they place a marker on their board if they have that word. Winners get to call out the words for the next round.
Also, I have played a form of Jeopardy with different categories based on that chapter's vocabulary. The easier words are at the top (cognates and the like) and they get harder as the category goes down. I split the class in two or three teams and they rotate turns answering.

Check out the mini-stories book and the audio Cd's on the Blaine Ray web page. I have personally seen Spanish programs turn around using this method. And we have used in in our own home. My husband and I also got very conversational taking a 3 day workshop through this company.

You can create a game using shutes and ladders, create your own board, adding vocabulary to it, or you can create a question and asnwer board, ask the question in english but have the students answer the vocab in spanish.
or put your students into group, and have them do a spelling contest, who ever wins gets a pizza party.
many ideas you can create

Use the "Concentration" game format, with tiles that are labels of things/stuff in the vocab lists.
