I applied for a broadband DSL connection. My husband and I had problems before of him using the internet. When he is in front of the computer, he can stay there for as long as he likes and not doing some chores at home. He's had history of access porn sites before.
We had a huge fight last week and I reached the point of leaving home due to his negligence of his duties at home bec. of internet browsing. (I am the one who is working and earning to feed my family)
However, I need the internet services too so I can stay connected with my friends and family in the Philippines.
I need a sound advice. For the past week that we lost internet services my life has been really quiet and the house is more manageable and peaceful.

You could get a filter service and or a history browser if you need it. If you don't want it you could go unplugged, nobody absolutely NEEDS the internet to get by, think of things 15 years ago, no one had it practically, people made do.

If for that week things have gotten better in the household then that is a start for you and your husband to realize this is the problem. He needs to think about what he is asking of you as a wife, one, you work and make the living to feed the family, second, your is wife and should come first before anything else. If he can't hold up his end of that, than maybe you could think about shutting it off for a month or so, and connecting through another souce to your family and friends. If his marriage means anything to him then he will work on his problem of being addicted to the internet. I really don;t know anything else except if you could afford a laptop and use it when away from home.

You could keep you Internet off and start going to the library for a computer. You can get a laptop notebook and carry it with you.You could turn the parental controls on, and not tell the codes. Or you can have your husband get a job , and if he wants the net then he can do so with his own money. Relax.... stress is not your friend.

Its sad that u have to treat ur husband like a child. This could be a sign u think? Why cut off ur world because he cant control his indulges long enough to do house chores to help u out since u are the one working. Seems to me that u should tell him to grow up ur not his mother and if he cant do so then to pack his stuff and leave. U need to be a mom to ur children not to her ur husband.
