I have read in many places such as liveaquaria.com and about.com that Guppies can live from 64-82F...

Is this true?

If yes, could I keep a few in a non heated 5 gallon tank?

thanks

As long as the room temperature will keep the water temperature above 65o, you can do that.

They would last for about a week or two or as long as it was summertime, or until you tried to change thier water because in my experience tap water is a little cooler than room temp. also without some heat the right enviroment couldn't set up right therefore you would have to clean the tank alot more often. I don't believe that it would be a good idea. But its your decision.

Hope this helps.

You can keep them in a non heated tank but they are more likely to get illnesses. You can get a little heater for around $10 though.

if you live in a warm area you can, but if it gets cold where you live then the guppies will likely get a disease and die. I would say that guppies are best with a heater.

Yes, unless you live where it gets really cold.
