They can get a job and stop bothering their parents. Maybe even learn som responsibility. Who knows maybe this will keep some of them out of trouble.
Oh yeah, they can stop driving their parents SUV"s and Hummers. There's a start.

Job + Living at Home
I have also heard of teenagers car pooling taking one car and the next day another to save gas.

Sure jobs would supply you money, but no teen wants to work. Parents will generally give some money up. Also you can save your gas by doing simple things like rolling down the windows rather than AC.

The same as everyone else, drive less, if you don't have the money. If you want to drive more get a job, and if you have one, get more hours. If you are fortunate enough to have parents to just hand you the money, which it sounds like they don't just fork it over, get what you can from them and work for the rest. good luck to us all!

I used to collect gas money from friends who wanted to ride every where we went. This would keep a lot of freeloaders out of my car & minimize driving that I didn't really want to do.

They can't, really. Some of them have rich parents or maybe they pool their resources. Or there are a few of them that have good jobs for their age. The others walk or take the bus.

By having parents who will hand over their car keys, and their credit cards. Oh..if that won't work, I guess the teen could get a job.

The same way they can afford to drive better cars that you and I do, parents that accommodate them.

Step daughter is 17 and she drives. She gets $100 a month to do with as she sees fit, and mainly only drives back and forth to school in her little old Corolla.
