Unfortunately it will not be back. The show cost David Milch a hell of a lot more money then he expected to produce, so after only three years they had to cancel the show. Apparently building the entire town, and the cost of all the actors and costumes just cost too too much so they had to end the show. It really is a shame as the show was fantastic, as far as I'm concerned. I loved the fact that it was based on reality, that so many of the characters were real and after reading some history books it made the show even more interesting. I did hear a rumor that there may be a movie made to finish up the story, but it was only a rumor.

No, like Carnivale, HBO decided to cancel the show and leave everything open ended. It's a shame really, as this was one of their best in my opinion.
