The only way is to help them embrace thier heratige. All of it. Encourage them to see people for who they are and for how they stand out in a group based on appearences. They need to know that some people are ignorant and childish and that thier parents didn't teach them better.

It is tough dealing with racism, especially in a country that should, in theory, be racism-free. The first thing you can do to help your kids is to ensure that they speak English well. It shouldn't be difficult if your wife is a natural American, and kids have a natural ability to learn any language. The better they are at it, though, the more difficult it will be for people to turn racism against them. The more accustomed to American culture they are, the harder it will be for people to turn racism against them. Essentially, they will be Americans, and there will be nothing anyone can do about it. Ultimately, all minorities have to put up with racism to some extent in America, but do not forget that most people here are not racist. Your kids will find plenty of friends that will accept them for who they are, and they will be fine. They will eventually face racism, but teach them to ignore idiots like that, and they'll learn how to deal with a lot of problems in a way that will better prepare them for life anywhere. I wish you the best of luck!

You've got to raise your children to your standards, and if you're a good parent, you'll raise them in spite of the world we live in. There is, always has been, and always will be racism in this country, it just so happens that immigrants are getting a lot of attention as of late. You must educate your children if you want them to succeed in this society, this no matter what color they are, because with an education comes choices. You will never be able to shield them from the bad things in this world, but at the same time you can teach them not to define their lives based on them.

there are many challenges and prejudices everyone will face in their lifetime, black, white, mexican, asian, everyone. Teach your kids how to know and value who they are and most importantly to value their opinion of themselves more than anybody else's opinion about them.
Trust me, racism is only one of the many problems that people have to deal with as we live with other people. Even if your kids lived in mexico, they would have issues to deal with too. So teach them to love and trust in themselves and they will be able to deal with anything that comes their way

Teach them diversity and to be proud of who they are. Make sure you are showing them by example. Teach them to love themselves and others and they will be just fine.
