all of the ppl i know diss my childhood idol ... marilyn manson... i still love this man dearly... but like wtf?... why do ppl think so wrong of him? ...hes only human!

People who choose to look different from " the Norm" and build their career around looking as different as possible invite criticism. I am not commenting on his singing, I am only going by his looks. While this may be how he chooses to look and has nothing to do with all the publicity it gets him, you can't say it hurts his career. Even bad publicity gets him noticed. Now my question to you: Did he become your idol because you heard his music first or because he is so different? It works both ways. People dislike him for how he looks and acts and people adore him for the same thing. That is what make humans amazing. If I were you, unless the dissing is directed to YOU, ignore it. And if it's in the media it is only helping to keep him in the spotlight.

People are ones to judge first by apperance and then by actions. I personally don't think there is anything wrong with marilyn manson. I know he has gotten a bad rep because "kids who listen to his music, commits suicide, shoot kids at school....blah, blah, blah. I agree that he is only human and we look at his mistakes as huge ones because of the way he has portrayed himself. Not saying it is the right thing or not, it is just the way it has always been.

He's a vulgar man who sacrificed a goat or sheep on stage...he's a strange character that no matter how old he gets, will always have the bad reputation his younger years gave him. I'm sure he's a delightful fella in person, but on stage and in front of the camera he's a nut job.

I've never quite gotten Marilyn Manson, but then I'm older. My daughter on the other hand loves him. She plans on being at his upcoming summer concert series, and has already seen him in concert at least 3 times.
To each their own I say.

You have to admit he has done some crazy crap and tries to look as weird as possible with those color contacts and pale skin, etc. People diss what they can not understand and he is one of those people that loves for people not to understand him.
