Neons, Guppies, Zebra Danios, Cherry Barbs, and Swordtails
rarely live more than 4 years in aquarium conditions. Gold Barbs may live a bit longer than this but probably average about the same. I have personally witnessed a Khuli loach live 7 years or so but this was probably an exceptionally long life for this species.

Stop playing in the pond and switch to salt water. Most are very easy to take care of. I have a yellow striped maroon clownfish which has lived for about 6 years. They are also much more colorful and if you do a real good job taking care of them they can live for up to 20 years.
