been to zoo with small child pygmy hippos was the favorite, looking for story books with pygmy hippos , pictures would also be good already bought zoo guide no pics of said hippos. anyone have ideas please

In the book "It Wasn't My Fault" by Helen Lester and Lynn Munsinger, there's a mention of a pygmy hippo. There's a nonfiction book called "Hippos" by Sally M. Walker with pictures. There's a children's book called "Ninety-Three in My Family" by Erica S. Perl, and it's about a young boy who has ninety-two pets including a pygmy hippo named Bernice. I hope this helps. Pygmy hippos are a tough subject because mostly everything that I seen was about regular hippos.

There are those "Zoobooks" they advertise on TV. It is a monly magazine for kids featuring different animals and no guarentee when they will get to hippos.
Go to the public library and check the periodical guide for articles on hippos in "National Geographic" and related magazines. The library should have some books on the animals and might also have nature documentaries that feature hippos in the wild. Beware that the nature documentaries might not be appropriate, especially if the hippos are hunted or eaten by either men or natural predators.

I am sorry I don't know where to look but pygma hippos!!! They sound adorable....Hippos are my favorite and I didn't know there was such a thing.
