Im not sure but you shouldve found that out before you got them. Im sure they get some water from their food but I would put out a water dish just to be sure. it wouldnt hurt anything right?

I am assuming by sand turtle you mean some form of land tortoise, and those should have water readily available even if you never see them drink from it. They should not be fed lettuce and should be fed darker leafy greens and grasses. In the wild they forage meadows and underbrush. Lettuce is essentially hardened water, it has little to no nutrition at all and doesn't digest well.

You may want to do a lot more research, I recommend herpcenter.com, they are very good and will help you through a lot.

Tortoises should always have access to fresh, clean water.

Almost no tortoise should eat lettuce, although some species can eat dark, leafy lettuces like Endive or Escarole.

You might want to do some more research on this.

they will need both..but i would not feed them lettuce..not much in lettuce.. you should feed them some red leaf,romaine lettuce or anything with dark greens. if you can get some Zoo Med's Reptivite..(reptile vitamins). that should keep them happy.

give your turtle some watter or they will end up dieing + feed them earth worms
