I'm assuming that "a" and "b" are constants.
Using the quadratic formula, x =

-(4a^2 - 3b) +/- sqrt ( (4a^2 - 3b)^2 - 4(9)(-12ab) )

x =

3b - 4a^2 +/- sqrt (16a^4 -12a^2b +9b^2 + 432ab)
---------------------------------------------
18

x= (( 3b-4a^2 -+sqrt(16a^4-24a^2b+9b^2+432ab))
all divided by18
I don´t see any simplifications
