I am strongly looking into moving to Detroit from Atlanta. I hear that Detroit has a Strong Economy and Good Paying Jobs. I also hear that it has Great Mass Transportation too and so much entertainment in the City of Detroit that you can NEVER be bored. What are the advantatages and disadvantages of living in Detroit and should I move to Detroit?

Who told you all of these vicious lies?? Nothing that you have typed here is true. Michigan is second in the county in UNEMPLOYMENT!! Their are absolutely no jobs here. That is why so many people are leaving the state. I myself will be leaving come September.
Mass Transportation?? That is another lie. The only transportation available around here is the gas guzzling vehicle that you pay to drive around.
Why in the world would you want to leave the ATL for this slop?? Stay where you are. You are only fooling and condemning yourself by coming up here.

The advice your friend Henry gave to you is not true. First, Michigan has a very weak economy and there are Detroit's economy is in horrible condition. Second, Detroit is the most dangerous city in Michigan. Third, Mass Transportation, what Mass Transportation. The only mass transportation Detroit has as the automobiles people drive that eat up your cash. Fourth, if Detroit has excellent schools, why did Detroit Public Schools have to close so many schools in 2007? Fifth, If Detroit government cared about its citizens, why are so many citizens leaving? Sixth, Detroit has very little entertainment downtown and is not like Atlanta or Savannah. Finally, Detroit is DIRTY. The city is not clean at all. Take my advice and do not move to Detroit, you will be sorry if you do.

The economy is bad in Michigan right now especially Detroit. If you are looking for somewhere with a good economy Detroit is not the place. Although the city does have a lot to do and you won't get easily bored.

Any place in Mi is not good. There are no jobs, our gas prices today are 3.65 a gal, we have a 2.00 a pack tax on cigarettes, and are tax to death here.I don't know about housing cost in Detroit, but in Grand Rapids they are out of line. The roads here were just voted the worst, Stay in Ga you will be better off. We have a higher tax on alcohol here, 6% sales tax and the Govenor is talking raising that along with a higher state income tax.

Detroit isnt Michigan, Detroit is Detroit, and people who arent from here can make their judgements all they want, because your city is the best on earth, with no crime, no job loss, you can never get bored, you dont drive cars because your mass transportation is so wonderful, your train rings your door bell AND picks you up right at your ******* door exactly when your ready to leave for work, and your gas prices are less than $3 per gallon, right? Just stay where you are you jackass, I bet the chances are greater that youll get murdered in your city, than i will in mine.Oh, excuse me,Atlanta is the most crime free beautiful city in the U.S.LOL LLLL

I have never lived there, but I have seen in the news lately about the bad real estate there. The prices of homes have gone down drastically. It's a high crime area, like any other big city. A lot of the auto companies have let go a lot of people, so I'm not sure where you're getting the information from about the good economy. Please do some more research and make sure it's up to date before you make that move.

I live in the burbs of Detroit and the economy sucks. the jobs that are good that pay good are great (I'm fortunate) but I was laid off for 4 months last year. Detroit is a fun city but if you think you may want to leave Atlanta to come here, don't, the winters are bad. Move to Chicago instead.
