fraction = fraction is a direct proportion and can be solved by cross multiplying.
3x/2 = (2x + 7)/1
2(2x + 7) = 3x(1)
4x + 14 = 3x
x = -14

Multiply both sides by 2 to get rid of the fraction first, then solve as usual:

3x/2 = 2x + 7
3x = 4x + 14
x = -14

multiply 2 by (2x+7):

3x=4x+14

subtract 4x from 3x:

-1x=14

divide 14 by -1:

x=-14

1. multiply 2 throughout both sides of equations to get rid of denominator 2 on the left hand side.

3x= 2(2x+7)
3x=4x+14

2. shift all the x terms to one side of the equation.( remember to change signs when you shift it over the = sign e.g. a + sign is changed to a - sign)

3x-4x=14
-x=14

3. hence, divide -1 from both sides to get rid of -ve sign on x term.

x= -14 ANS!!

multiply both side by 2--- 3x=(2x+7)2
distribute--- 3x=4x+14
subtract 4x from both sides--- -x=14
multiply by -1 (to get rid of -x)--- x= -14
