It was late 80's or early 90's, this blond chick has a birthday party at some creepy haunted house and for some reason I think her name was Angela and she turns into some kind of demon witch thing and starts killing all the people at the party.
They played it on HBO all the time (remember when HBO first started they had like 5 movies they would play over and over, I think I saw Beetlejuice about 100 times that summer) anyways, I also have an image of the evil chick licking a lolly pop or something.

...unmistakedly, this is the bloody 1988 horror/comedy, "Night of the Demons", starring the 80's scream queen Linnea Quigley; the plot of the film is exactly as you described. The film's notorious payoff/money shot had Linnea Quigley's character in the film, get possessed by one of the aforementioned demons, and at one point, she becomes topless, and shoves an open lipstick into the nipple of her left breast....right before ripping out the eyes of a clueless horny boyfriend/lover!!! (Oh, Yummm!!!)

Anchor Bay Entertainment picked up the film for DVD release, about a year ago, and is still readily available.

Unfortunately, the two sequels have not been picked up on DVD, and are relatively hard to find on VHS tape (Angela's demonic character, portrayed in all the films by actress Amelia Kincade, returns to plague several other groups of hapless/clueless horny teens, who dare venture into the mortuary house, where the original terror took place).

All the films were directed by Kevin Tenney, who also directed the "Witchboard" and "Witchtrap" movies, as well as "Pinocchio's Revenge"; presently, he is on the fast track to release his own entry in the flesh-munching zombie genre, entitled "Brain Dead"

The first thing that popped into my head was "Happy Birthday to Me" (1981) - but I don't remember the details all that clearly, so I could be totally off. It also sounds similar to "April Fool's Day" (1986) Maybe check them out on imdb.com and see if they ring any bells. Hope that helps!

My sister and I used to watch all those B horror movies back in the day - believe it or not, there are quite a few with that plot line! :)
