Er, no.
We made paper dolls out of shirt boxes, and clothes out of old school paper and colored them with crayons.
We made play money out of the same materials and gathered stuff from around the house to play 'store' sometimes.
And when we really got bored, we wrote scripts and played a game we called 'soap opera' to entertain ourselves.
Those were the days . . . .

Why? That's just mean!
With a little imagination, kids can make toys out of stuff around the house. Empty paper towel or toilet paper rolls make good telescopes or binoculars or a million other things. Empty wrapping paper rolls are swords or bats or a number of other things. some rice or beans or small pebbles inside an empty can or between two paper plates glued together are great noisemakers. A gallon jug can be cut in half to make a bucket and a scoop for playing in the sandbox.
My cousins and I would make stuff all the time growing up over at my grandma's house. There were a few toys there, but it was more fun to make stuff, and then we could each have our own, and decorate it the way we wanted. Also, we would play games outside, no toys needed, whether there were two or ten of us there. I had some of the most fun and most memorable times of my life when we would play without toys. Whether it was making noisemakers with the empty cans from lunch, or making up dances in the yard, we were having fun. We never felt deprived because we weren't playing with the latest toys. In fact, I think I lives were richer without them.

No, that's not right. It'd make the child jealous. I think you should try to make some toys.

No, only sick child molestors enjoy watching videos of kids playing. S*** they're usually the ones who make 'em.

One of my friends was unfortunate to have a poor family when he grew up, so he said he got his entertainment from people. If you cant have stuff, at least you have people. He said he had the most fun with his friends when he was young and poor.
