I was just wondering if I were to become a Notary- how much money I can make? Would it depend on the company that I notarize for or can I make my own charges?
Serious answers please. Thanks in advance.

My roommate is a notary and she really doesn't make very much. She works at a law firm and because there are several other notaries working there as well, it's not that lucrative for her.
If you are independent, and promote yourself well, you can make more.
What you charge is up to you. I guess you just need to be competitive.

Not very much. Most notary services are wrapped in with other businesses. For example, most banks, accounting offices, law offices, real estate offices, etc. have notaries on site.

Most places have notary on site that do it as part of other job function.; private notary makes a couple of bucks a signature in most areas.

It would depend on your availibility. Most people who need a notary can find one very easily at the place they need it to happen, such as real estate, hosipital, bank, bail bondsmen etc.
