I looked into getting a breast reduction and the doctor told me I should wait until I am through having children, as you are not able to nurse because most of the glands are damaged or removed during surgery...Plus most procedures remove the entire nipple.....and that can't be good for nursing!?!?
As far as the whole breat enlarging with children---YES they do...mine went from a nice size "C" to a "DD" and has stayed that way for five years!!!
My advice would be wait until you are through having kids! Then do it for yourself!!! That is what I am planning:-)

I had a breast reduction in 2001. I am pregnant now for the first time since, so while I cannot answer the breast feeding question ( I am hoping I can) I will tell you my breasts have grown, but nothing like before the BR. I have gone up almsot a full cup size. By the way call your surgeons office, in your surgical records it should be in there if he was able to save all the milk ducts. If so you should be good to go, if not you still may be able to breast-feed but may find the need to supplement with formula. Good luck!

I had a BR in 2002. I am now pregnant with my first child. I will probably have supplement with formula, but I am going to try to breast feed. I do know they took most of my milk ducts. So far, my breasts are fuller and sore, but I have not really gone up any cup sizes yet in these first months. I hope I don't get too big in the end. Very large breasts caused lots of problems for me physically during my teens and twenties, and I couldn't live with it all anymore. I do not regret getting it done, even before pregnancy. If I can't breast feed, so be it. It will all work out in the end.

Some women can still breastfeed and some can't. It depends on how much scar tissue there is and how much of the milk ducts were damaged or removed. I actually had a breast enhancement and I nursed but due to the prior sugery I had a very low production of milk. All you can do is try and see. It is beneficial for the baby no matter how small the amount. Good luck!

I know women who've had breast reductions and can breastfeed. Theirs did get a little bigger due to the milk but they went back to their size they had after surgery.
