I wouldn't rate as much- too much pressure. I only give thumbs down for over the top practically begging for thumbs down answers. I give thumbs up for funny ones or ones that really solve a problem and answer the question- I don't think I want to know. It would take away all the mystery.

no coz then the asker would get narked at the person who gave the thumbs down and could sabotage the other person's questions and answers, it would become a petty war of thumbs!
