Depends on which birth control you mean.

With some it is inevitable (like depo, I know!), but try working out and eating healthy and not eat like crazy before your period starts.

1. limit salt intake--THAT is the biggest culprit - fluid retention
and you will notice your breasts are the first to grow!!

2, count your calorie consumption- you will be surprised how your appetite increases and you will not be aware of it unless you write down what you eat.

3. keep only "good foods" in your pantry and frig--that way when you get the munchies you will be chewing on carrots and fruit instead of chips and dip.

ps- this will also hold true for pregnancy since it is the same scenario- your body is in a false state of pregnancy while on the pill.

birth control does not physically cause you to gain weight, it causes you to feel hungry more often. Just watch how often (and how much) you eat! Drink alot when eating and eat very slowley, you will get full faster and have more leftovers=save money and lose weight!

Its not the pill causing weight gain, its what food you are putting into your mouth. The pill increases appetite.
