He complains that there isnt enough tollerance in the world but whats to ban religion, isnt that taking away our freedom. What happens if we said we want to ban gay people?
LONDON - Organized religion fuels anti-gay discrimination and other forms of bias, pop star Elton John said in an interview published Saturday.
“I think religion has always tried to turn hatred toward gay people,” John said in the Observer newspaper’s Music Monthly Magazine. “Religion promotes the hatred and spite against gays.”
“But there are so many people I know who are gay and love their religion,” he said. “From my point of view, I would ban religion completely. Organized religion doesn’t seem to work. It turns people into really hateful lemmings and it’s not really compassionate.”

His comments seem a bit hypocritical to me. A lot of people think religion should be banned I suppose, and it's just as wrong as the fundamentalists who long for a theocracy. Intolerance comes from both extremes way too often. As a gay man, he should realize the irony of his statements. He's right, many gays are very religious and they love God as much as the next person, but then he wants to take that freedom away from them, and away from everyone? It makes little sense to me. I don't believe in organized religion myself and it led to me becoming Deist - but that's my own personal choice. I would never think of banning organized religion, even if I had the power to do so.

Hey Elton, let's ban religion, I'm sure everyone will stop believing and want to be your friend, especially after being called lemmings.

Most men who take it up the *** from other men are not for religion either. It works both ways. I'm not a celebrity, but I am a thinker

One person I wouldn't want to take religious or political advice from is Elton John. I mean, c'mon! Elton John?

Obviously his talent for music doesn't extend to logical or rational thinking.
What a wanker he is.

It sounds like you have a problem understand people. Everyone has a right to express what they think but that doesn't mean its going to happen, whatever they say.
Ignore it and go on with your life and quit causing more problems ..

Elton John is a left-wing freak like 90% of the other singers and entertainers. He is a fag.
