You are right on the ball there. That IS the correct answer. Take it from me, I was a math major in college so I know what I am doing with numbers. I LOVE algebra so this is like my perfect question.

Take them one at a time:

(8x^3b^4)(3x^2b^3) = 24x^5b^7

(24x^5b^7)(-4x^2) = -96x^7b^7

So, you've got it right.
