Rush Limbaugh, is he our new poster child for distasteful behavior when it comes what a radio guy says. I watched a report this morning on the Today Show about the "magic *****" song (re Sen Obama) and after what Imus did, and Rosie stepping down from ABC (you know she would have gotten herself canned if she didn't, and she took the easy way out).

Rush I don't care who did this little song. You sir, had the right to not play it, and to ridicule a man, based on his race and then to blame it on someone else by saying "well I didn't write the song" or words to that effect, is no excuse.

Rush you are another example of rich, White America, believing you can do or say anything and get away with it. You and Mr. Imus and Ms. Hilton. I think the FCC should go after you with the same vengence that the Govt went after Martha Stewart. And all she did was the samething many fat cat business men have been doing for years.

SHAME ON YOU RUSH !!!!!!!!

I am 47 and white, I was born is a small town in Northern Calif, and I was shocked in my Sr. year to discover that some business owners in my home town were racist. In that same year 1977 I went into the military and spent the next 3 years overseas, to dicsover that not only was racisim practically non-existant, but other prejudices as well were not there.

My real shock was in 1986 when I moved to So. Cal and discovered that there were people that did not like me cause I was white. People of other ethnicities that had experienced bad things at the hands of those that went before me, and I was being judged.

I hate racism in every form, and I hate white, or blacks, or any other ethnicity that stir up the pot of racisim, when it suits them. I hate that there are black folk in this world and in LA that have a right to hate us white folk. But all I can do is speak out against racisits when ever I can.
BTW I DON'T LISTEN TO RUSH, I herd the story on the news, ok.

Before you get all het up about the “"Barack the 'Magic *****'” song let me tell you this is not News, it has been going on for a couple of months now.

The first thing you need to know is that the term “"Barack the 'Magic *****'” was applied to Barack Obama by none other than the LA Times in an article on March 19, 2007 by David Ehrenstein. The headline of his column: "Obama, the 'Magic *****.'"

The song (and btw there is no video, if you see a video with the song someone else did it) is a political parody not a personal one. Here is Obama’s reaction in answer to a question by Paul W. Smith:

OBAMA: (Laughing.) You know, I have not heard it but I've heard of it. I confess that I don't listen to Rush on a daily basis. On the other hand, I'm not one of these people who -- who takes myself so seriously that I get offended by -- by every -- every comment made about me. You know, the -- you know, what Rush does is entertainment, and although it's probably not something that I listen to much, I don't --

This is not the same as things said by Rosie, Imus or Jimmy the Greek. If you are interested there are some 40 links on Rush’s website that deal with the origin of the term, the song (sung to the tune of Puff the Magic Dragon for those who have not heard it) and the continuing saga at the sources below.

I personally do not like Rush at all. I think he is a jerk. HOWEVER I think America needs to get a grip. We went from "Nappy headed hoes" to this...... Is the black race the only one off limits to make fun of? If they would have made a song about a white man no one would have been mad. Or a woman, no one would of stood up for her.

If you run for anything .... your putting yourself in a spot to be made fun of. They make fun of Fat people, retarded people, gay people daily, and that seems to be OK...... This is why some people bash black people because their rights are but above all, and comments about them are blown out of proportion.

I think America needs to grow up. If you don't like something said, walk away, turn the station or just simply take it as what it is TALK. However if this is going to be such an issue, maybe we should care more about the rights of everyone not just one race.

I personally don't like either man involved. Has nothing to do with race, just don't like them. I don't think race would be as big of an issue if it was not continually made one.

The Black race would have a better stand here if their own race didnt make fun of them.... From black rap stars to ball players ect. They use the N word more then anyone. They call their women HOES, and make fun of the back race. Yet noone comes down on them. If they dont respect their own race why should others?

The Limbaugh/M.Moore set can never go too far or too fast. I believe it's somewhere in their job description to destroy the nation by inciting hatred along party lines. If you feel emotionally attached to one party and hate the other, they're doing their job. How so? Because the fact is, both parties have handed us our own sewage year after year, and make no bones about the fact. These hate-mongers toss out a few one-liners and we're dumb enough to blame only half the jack-ashes in DC while enshrining the other half. Either way you look at it, the entire government has the loyalty of two halves of the Citizenry. ...

While I do agree whole heartedly I cannot say I support him being thrown off the air basically because that is what is already in the works , its called HR 1592 and this Bill will restrict free speech tremendously . Rush should be reprimanded but I believe it should be left to people who listen and will write letters for this or his sponsors should leave , take this approach and I will stand behind you , getting the government involved is a mistake in my opinion .

Anyway see link on HR 1592 - http://www.house.gov/paul/tst/tst2007/tst050707.htm

I am certainly not a fan of Rush and his merry band of Ditto Heads, but I am not about to support the squelching of free speech.

I think you're overreacting here.Calm down and relax.Obama can take it.If you easily offended folk would just ignore this stuff it would go under the radar. As far as Imus goes, those poor offended ball players would have never heard that remark(I didn't).If the easily offended wouldn't have blown it up. like that friend. The one who whispers in your ear"Rush says you're an ugly slob".I wonder who they're looking out for?.

Not clear why the FCC would go after him despite the fact that he is a retard. He has the right to freedom of speech and expression; what you are discussing is clearly covered by that. I wonder, would you also go after Al Sharpton? Sharpton has been the source of countless anti-jew, anti-white, anti-asian, and just about anti-anything not black comments throughout his miserable career. Would you target him too? There is a long list of black "community leaders" just like Sharpton who say many hostile and offensive things, how about targeting them also?

So how about it? Are you going to be consistent in your denial of free speech or will it only apply to people with whom you differ?

Rush should be put on a treadmill in hell. He's been allowed to poke racist fun in the name of entertainment for far too long. Let's not forget he's a pill junkie. What do you expect from someone who hates?

Rush always goes to far. I don't know who he thinks he is, but his word is not law. and neither are his ideas and policies.
