It's actually one of my favorite books. Like many of John Irving's books, it's full of quirky characters and sad storylines. It's also very long and not a "light" read, if that's what you're looking for. But it's very worth reading and it kept my interest--I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen.

The author's name is John Irving, and he is a very interesting writer, with oddball characters and original stories to tell. I have enjoyed everything I have read by him. Take a chance! Jump in, the water's fine!

"I am doomed to remember a boy with a wrecked voice-not because of his voice, or because he was the smallest person I ever knew, or even because he was the instrument of my mother's death, but because he is the reason I believe in God; I am a Christian because of Owen Meany." First Sentence
I love most of Irving's work. My favorite was "The Hotel New Hampshire."

I've never read the book, but my daughter asked for it for Christmas and she loved it.
The author's name is John Irving--you might check it out on amazon, read the synopsis and then decide whether you want to read it.

It's the only novel I've read four times and I know I'll read it again sometime soon.
I try to read it every other year, it's my favourite book of all time.

I loved this book. Definitely my favorite by Irving. I gave a copy to my mother. She forgot I had given it to her and when she finally finished reading it she recommended it to me.

I still consider it the best book I ever read. I did not find it contrary to my faith, rather fairly well describes my approach to it.
