I am looking for a book that will aid me in expressing my feelings more. I somehow hold soo much in, especially when it comes to the people I LOVE the most. It has affected soo many of my relationships. One factor is that during child hood I NEVER heard my parents tell eachother they loved eachother.

Stay away from self-help books, there nice educational tools for understanding emotions but there, there to take advantage of a certain level of emotional ignorance. Which is to say they simply use the formula positive thinking creates positive actions. Simple stuff and they'll just explain some steps for you to accomplish this but unfornatunely they don't take in to account the personal obstacles one has to deal with in their life. Or what I'd like to call catch-22s, like for instance alot of them say seperate from negative people, what happens when a negative person is lets say your husban? Or mother? Then problems get complicated..... a better way towards self-help is understand. A few good books for understand human false's and therefor the root of many social problems is Carl Jungs "Man and his Symbols" Its an oldie but goodie at explaining the falacies of human languagne. Also another great read is Emotional Intellegence, I forget who wrote it but she did a great job, and it reads incredible easy. It does a great job of explain the works of emotions, feelings, and instincts. But my point really is that self-help books are a cruck, the best self-help is your own education. Realize that, also as a side bar to this, expanding your reading well have effects on your ability to relate your own feelings. Book reading isn't just a nerds thing, its important to your ability to use words to express things that can't be given words... read carl jung and you'll understand that... but the point is to educate yourself never based soly on one source, expand that mind of yours..... and the rest will flow freely. I started with reading books before I got confident enough to relate with people and its made all the difference towards me understanding what others don't know and extremely important, what they need from me. So really read as many books about non-fiction as you can take, and you'll self-help yourself ;-)
