It's okay to kill a human baby purely for the sake of convenience, but it's not okay to kill and eat animals (you know, those tasty ones like cows and chickens).?
Sorry, this hypocrisy really bothers me...

No kool-aid here, just somethint that's bothered me since I saw Ashley Judd at that women's rally a year or two ago... Actually I don't think I've heard the issue addressed before.
Anyway, my question is mostly rooted in observation of the "Hollywood Left" who shreik so loudly and often about their liberal viewpoints. I've noticed that many of them also profess being vegans (or at least vegitarians for the same reason, but will eat eggs and milk products). And several of them, such as Pink, Kim Bassinger, Alec Baldwin, Bill Maher, Alicia Silverstone are also very loudly "pro-choice."
Admittedly I do not know ALL of Hollywood's eating habits or stances on abortion, but there sure seems to be a lot of cross-over.

Additionally, I am a very conservative mother of 3 and I firmly believe life begins at conception BECAUSE... If a woman is in reasonably good health and a pregnancy is permitted to go to term, the result will usually be a perfectly healthy human baby.
Years ago I was pro-choice, I felt that if I got pregnant unintentionally it was nobody's business but my own... But as I matured I came to realize that a baby, even an unborn baby, is still a child. To end a pregnancy is murder. To stand back and permit it is tantamount to abetting murder.
A woman DOES have every right to choose what she does with and to her body until the life of another hangs in the balance.

Maybe they that think animals are cute and cuddly, but that babies are an inconvenience.

So much for "protecting the defenseless."

It's kind of creepy.

Hey, sweetie! Who ever said that an abortion is merely out of convenience? You don't know much about the situation, do you, but yet you don't have a problem condemning people for something you apparently don't understand! Sorry, but this arrogance really bothers me! Do you think that little or no thought goes into making such a decision? Pro-choice doesn't mean pro-abortion, something you fail to realize! Pro-choice means that abortion is MY decision, mine and my husband's, not the government's and certainly not yours. Maybe you ought to research something before you spout off. Oh, and I am a conservative!

It is not hypocrisy.

Being pro-choice merely means that they want people to have the option instead of forcing their beliefs on everyone.

They are not trying to have vegan laws passed, just chosing to live that way. I dont know a single Vegan or even a vegetarian that is pro-abortion (and I know quite a few). They just believe that people should be allowed to make their own choices, be it in food or in their personal lives.

You cant base it on Hollywood-theyre just idiots. Look at all the anti-SUV rallies where they all showed up with a fleet of SUV's for them and their bodyguards/escorts. Ridiculous. They do not represent the majority of vegans, vegetarians, liberals, Americans, or even humanity in general.

NOBODY is in favor of abortion. Get it? They are in favor of the right of choice. I am pro-life but I am getting tired of hearing liberals are in favor of murdering babies. If women choose to kill babies, they will pay for it later. Oh yes they will. And by the way, if we the people are so set against it, then why did not pressure the Conservative administration to end it when we had the chance? And why did our congress not push it? If 85 percent of this country truly believes in God then why don't we get off our lazy butts and try to change things? Write your Representatives and lets make things right again. I did. Looks like I was ignored but hey, I tried. And get over the meat eating argument. If you like it, eat it. If you don't, leave everyone else alone about it. Obviously there will never be a law against it.

a million) i do no longer think of killing an animal is against the regulation. i individually prefer to no longer consume the flesh off of yet another residing animal. it truly is my decision. no longer against the regulation. 2) you haven't any longer have been given a clue how abortions are achieved. while you're this obsessed in this undertaking, attempt and coach your self. Early term abortions are actually not achieved by way of yanking & tearing of an harmless, unborn toddler out of a womb with a pair of forceps .....it truly is done by way of applying vacuum suction. Later they are in a position to apply saline for the abortion. Even late term abortions, or partial delivery abortions are actually not preformed in the style you communicate. (i'm going to could desire to assert i do no longer believe any abortion different than early term, formerly 12 weeks.) Please attempt and coach your self in this undertaking. I don;t care who eats meat. i'm the only only who's a vegetarian. i do no longer no longer attempt and push my perspectives and emotions approximately meat on others. in case you, or every person else, needs to consume the flesh of an animal..bypass forward. Obviously they do not believe that humanity begins at conception. Obviously you do. It's nothing to do with convenience or lack of compassion, merely a belief about what is or isn't life. That's the crux of the argument in all moral and philosophical arguments about abortion, and if you read much philosophy, no side has really come with up with a definitive winner. I'm not a vegetarian, but there are strong moral arguments for being one. Why do you believe it is ok to kill and mistreat animals (most animals in your food supply will have been mistreated)?

Pro-choice does not mean pro-abortion. In fact most liberals who are pro choice do not like abortion and would rather that it went away... however they reconize that in some cases it might be the best thing for everyone, or that it might be medically necesary. We can't possibly imagine every situation that might arise and because we can't, we need to leave the option open, safe and legal should the need arise. most liberals would also want to put in place systems what would hopefully reduce the need for abortions, such a universal health care, and assistance for poor families, combined with a robust sexual education system that teaches kids about sex and the use of contraception.

Intellectual fads and fashions. You cannot be avant-garde unless your conclusions are surprising and confronting. Consistency and principle have nothing to do with it. Japan's consumer culture is very like that. Such views cement their membership of an "intelligentsia" that develops new or experimental concepts, so conventional religion is out too. That there are no necessary linkages is proved by Communist Cuba's suppression of sexual activity after Castro's revolution, something promoted by the Left in the USA, including Castro persecution of homosexuals, even their being confined to an island by way of quarantine, if they have HIV. Latin culture had been pretty tolerant of what was seen as the third sex. So they are for all these things because conventional people are against it. It requires no real thought, yet projects "deeply sincere brilliance". Eventually, they come to believe their act.

First of all, I like both veggies AND meat.

And abortion is not "ok," but too many conservatives are pure hypocrites on this issue; wanting to reduce abortions but resisting universal access to contraception and responsible sex education - with the USA having the highest teen pregnancy rate on the planet.

Ya, hypocrisy bothers me, too...

I think you're over-generalizing Vegans (no meat or animal products) because some choose that diet for health reasons, not because of the 'no kill' philosophy. Unless you mean vegetarians which also choose no meat due to many different reasons and not only because of not wanting to kill animals.
Pro-choice also doesn't mean 'pro-abortion'. It means that each woman needs to decide for herself; not her doctor, family or even the father. I know many 'liberals' who would never encourage a woman to abort, but believe the laws should remain in place so the choice is there.
I also know very few women who abort 'for sake of convenience'.

think it's like the add age straining at a gnat and swallowing a fly. I can't answer the question as to why. The only thing I can think of is blindness. I don't see how human beings can care so much about the plight of the dolphins and these same human being not only don't care about the murder of unborn babies, but are advocates who fight for it. Makes no sense to me. Has to be blindness.
