I'm assuming that your car won't start. Just the clicking sound indicates that your battery is nearly dead. Charge it up.

One click? Bad starter, water in one cylinder keeping the engine from turning, the engine has siezed up and won't turn, you have a broke connecting rod, the transmission is in gear,

Lot's of rapid clicks, low battery.

Your starter is fixing to go out. I work at an automitve shop and when people call about the clicking the machanic always says the starter going out.

Sounds like a bad starter. Do all the lights on the dash come on? If they look normal, it is the starter, if not, you may have a bad battery.

bad starter relay/solenoid, bad battery, or bat alternator.
