Firstly, the reason your periods are heavier is because there is a longer space of time between them. This is normal. You may also see clotting which is also okay.

The increased space of time between periods is not a cause for too much concern. If you go 5-6 months without a period you may want to schedule a doctor's visit. Otherwise... just remember that the 28 day rule is just an average. Most women have different timelines and 2-3 months is not a big deal.

Take a breathe, relax.

1 week is normal for a period to last. Having them 2 or 3 monthly at your age is not. They shouldn't be very heavy either. Perhaps you simply need a D & C (dilation and Curette) to clean things up in the womb. This is a common procedure and can be done in the morning and come home in the afternoon. Other than that, stress could be a factor and so you could try relaxing and dealing with the stress. I would see a Dr though for a checkup. You could easily become aenemic with heavy blood loss and may need iron supplements. Hope this helps.

Are you breastfeeding? That can also cause delay in getting your period.
By now your body should be regulated if you are not breastfeeding. If they were normal before getting pregnant then they should have returned to normal by now- 2 years later.
While you do not have insurance, you can call the gynecology department of your local hospital and at least ask for their recommendation on your condition.
I would not fool around with this but seek medical attention.

It depends on how old you are and how you perinatal period was. It could be nothing but some hormonal disregulation which should get better to normal in no time, but it could also be something serious. If you are having other symptoms and signs like pain during menstrual period or increased or decreased volume of the menses, you should probably see your obstetrician and do some thorough physical exam.

I had very irregular for about 5 mths after my daughter was born, then when it wouldn't go back to normal I went to the Dr. and he put me on a different birth control to regulate. I would suggest paying the obgyn and getting checked out. It could be something serious.

There are many factors that can cause this, exercising, sports, your current health. Some women go as long as 7 months between periods. But you should go to your doctors and get checked out. They may prescribe you the pill which will ensure that you get it every month.

You are far too young for your periods to lag that long, it sounds like you're about to go into menopause. When you can afford it, I would suggest that you go see your doctor, that way you will know the truth.

Irregular periods are due to hormonal imbalance. It can also be due to fibroids. Suggest you have a check up.
