I think "Americans" talk about the world series because baseball is an American past time. Its been here as long as anyone else has and its going to be here even longer. Its like any other sport with a big finish in the end of a long season. NFL has the Super Bowl, College sports has NCAA Championships and MLB has the World Series, its a tradition.

Baseball is quickly becoming one of the most popular sports in the world. If you opened you eyes, you would see players from all around the Americas and from Asia as well. The World Baseball Classic was won by, I think Japan. I know it was not the USA. The point is, the MLB is accepting global players, and I have heard rumors of a team in Mexico City. So other people do play this game and you are wrong.

What a pile of manure - that's the description of your question.
Baseball is played in the US, Canada, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Curacao, Puerto RIco, South Africa, the Netherlands, Britain, Italy, Israel, Russie, Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Guam and it's growing in popularity in other counties as well.
A gay game? As opposed to what? Or are you simply saying that real men don't play baseball. WRONG AGAIN!!!
Baseball is not an easy game to play. It may look simple to play at, but it's not easy to play. When was the last time that you stood and waited for a small, hard ball to come your way at 90+ mph? When was the last time that used a round stick to hit a round ball, and to hit it squarely? When was the last time that you tried to block the plate when a full grown man comes barreling down the line to get any part of his body on the plate, and ready to take you out of the picture by whatever means may be necessary? When was the last time that you were that full grown man barreling down that line? When was the last time that you, as a middle infielder, had to get the relay throw off to first while a runner is trying you flip you a** over teakettle? Or the runner trying to avoid being hit in the head with that thrown ball when trying to break up a potential double play? When was the last time that you tried to catch a flying object, moving away from you, affected by the wind, while you're on the dead run from 150' away? When was the lst time that you tried to any type of activity from a standing start, at all times. (Baseball is the equivalent of a car going 0 - 60 not in 10 seconds but in .01 second.)
Do you consider Michael Jordan to be a true athlete? If so, then remember this - HE FAILED AT BASEBALL. As did Eric Lindros, John Elway, Drew Henson, and any number of other world-class athletes whom you would recognize as being such. None of them could cut it on the diamond.
The name of the championship series is more than a century old.
GET OVER YOURSELF.

Calling baseball "gay" - wow, you're so funny.
As to the name, you'd probably understand if you actually made the effort to conduct a 30-second Google search. It was nothing more than a catchy name that someone came up with over 100 years ago, and it's stuck since then.
Some people might also try to tell you it was named after a newspaper, but they're wrong.

You might want to think twice about that question choo-chi. Almost 50% of all the players in MLB were born in countries other than the US. So to say that "nobody" plays this "gay game" is ignorant. And why do you even care about baseball if you believe it is "gay"?

I think that they can call it the "World Series" because there are players from many different countries represented.
You could also argue that there aren't any teams from any were else, but this point is invalid because there is a team that is in Canada, the Toronto Blue Jays.

Why do losers who call baseball gay take the time to post a question in a Baseball section?
Get a life and stop trying to rile everyone up.
