You're right. Bush is indeed increasingly irrelivant. In fact he's been irrelivant for quite some time. Nobody listens to him or believes him any more. Carter was right to say what he said and its a shame he took back the remarks.

I guess they are still smarting from the fact that 11 Republican members of Congress informed the President that the White House no longer has credibility regarding the Iraq War. Ouch...that must have hurt. Easier to take a swing at Carter for speaking the truth than it is to publicly chastise their own party members huh?

I'm afraid that as long as he is Commander-In-Chief, he is relevant. He is the only one who has the authority to bring the troops home, if he so chooses.
What is being shown is how irrelevant the Democratic Congress is. They passed their supplemental spending package with timelines, only to have it swatted back in their face. For a group that advocated change once they controlled Congress, what have they accomplished?
Maybe this changes in 2009, if they can elect a Democratic President. Time will tell. As of now, though, wake me when they've actually done something.

Bush sees all of Humanity as "increasingly irrelevant"
All that matters now is Oil and his New Rancho in Paraguay.
You know he won't be bothered by term limits in Paraguay if he desires to become King.

Carter has just added his voice to the many that already see him for what he truly is. The Bush Admin is best described as a Great American disaster

You are right, Carter is irrelevant. He was irrelevant when he was in Office and he's even more so now.
