It would be pretty hilarious. I did see that movie, and I thought it was hilarious. The entire cast was brilliant, and I loved how they were able to be so good hearted when it came to making a joke about something so important to the English people. But in real life, I could see masses of people passing out like they were at a Michael Jackson concert in the '80's!

Britain has had French, Dutch and German kings. An American king now would have more of an impact as more people see and hear the king than did 300 years ago. Some would enjoy the novelty - the Danes seem to like their Australian crown princess - and some would hate it, but once this American became a UK citizen they would have to live with it.

The King's Speech would sound odd delivered in an American accent, but hopefully his kids would grow up to sound British.

i do no longer think of this could be a nicely-liked plan! there is already a deep feeling that individuals attempt to take over the international, what with each and all of the destructive invasions your lot get embroiled in. by way of no skill if the contender became a Catholic - it is basically no longer allowed. additionally, the monarch is likewise head of the Church of britain so i'm uncertain how that would artwork in the event that they have been American. i assume that they had ought to transform, if it particularly is allowed under Church policies.

It nearly did when King Edward VIII wanted to marry Wallace Simpson, but I don't think it would be so bad, there have been numerous Americans marry in to the aristocracy for the last hundred years or so and it hasn't caused their downfall.
