Please tell me what qualifies the American public at large to make that decision. As evidenced by many on Q & A, the majority of people are ill informed and clueless about things that affect our country. I would take the time to try and explain why Iraq is important, but those of you that so rabidly hate Bush would either not listen or fail to understand the complex nature of what I am trying to explain.

Do you think the public are experts in war? do you think they are experts in terrorism? Bush might not be an expert, but he has experts opinions. Im pretty sure a man with that kind of power is hearing something from an expert as we speak.
We know from many videos that when the soviets left afghanistan, alquida (well the beginning of alquida, the mujihadeen) saw this as a major victory and became emboldened. They gathered in numbers and strength. The more emboldened terrorist are, the more strikes they will launch.
We broke iraq (some can argue that it wasnt better under saddam). We know iraq is a hotbed for terrorist coming from other countries to fight. ive read the military reports and the majority of the people we are capturing are iraqis, but we continue to find more and more ties with iraqis and alquida.
if we ditch iraq what do you think is going to happen to the us?
Our elected officials have ignored the borders, they have ignored visa laws, they have ignored the suggestions from the 911 commission, we arent safer today then we were 5 years ago, but if we embolden the terrorist and pull out of iraq, we are asking for another 911.
we need to vote out all these 'bitches' the blind public voted for and put someone in power that will actually accomplish things. I, like many americans gave the democrats a chance. They were saying were going to sure up the 911 comm recommendations we are going to do this and that.. and how many months later... the only things they pass, give amnesty to illegal immigrants!
and to the fool who posted democrats comments about wmd. DID YOU EVEN READ THE QUESTION? where does it say a single thing about the invasion, or the reasons we are there?
Heres the question for ya, this time READ IT:
when is the president going to realize that we need to pull out of iraq and start listening to the public???
does anyone see 'wmd' in there... does anyone see 'weapons' 'mass' or 'destruction' in there...does anyone see 'invasion'?
maybe hes reading a different question that the rest of us..
pinelake, how would you suggest i do a backflip on my freeride mountain bike? how would you suggest i modify my non digital television to pick up digital channels?
your non-experted opinions mean nothing to me. If youve never done a backflip, why should i listen to you?

I'm sure he'll realize it around 2008...sometime after November...
yeah he's a real knucklehead
just to add something, don't get caught up with the pro-bush crowd just yet...if the government knows something we don't know...then why don't they tell us so we can understand that this war isn't the equivalent of a dog chasing it's tail,
because in the end
this whole Iraqi deal...
looks like it is going to bite us all in the @ss

Why do people everywhere ask this question? No one knows - they all just hypothecate - I don't think the American people have all the information the government has - I think most of the time WE don't have all the information - so we guess and we point fingers and we try to place blame and we judge and on and on and on we go.
Who cares - deal with right now and do what you can to help in any way - like send a soldier a card or a gift package full of snacks or something.

When will the libs realize the importance of a miliary victory against islamo-fascism?
golden- a humanitarian force? ever hear of somalia? clinton cut back on armor and heavy weapons, so as not to cause a lot of trouble for the poor somalis. it was a meat grinder. Libs like you, in charge of military decision making is frightening.
You either use overwhelming firepower, or none at all. you cant have a massive set of rules of engagement while the enemy operates unhindered by the sane laws of land warfare and every unit carrying a lawyer. War is hell, when you try to clean it up, and be PC about it, you will start losing wars, which the Libs dont seem to have a problem with.
it takes more than words and handholding to stop terrorists bent on the annhilation of the West.

I don't think we should pull out completely, but switch to a humanitarian force.
When will Americans realize that this is not about terror? (Look at these posts above).

The public is what prolonged this thing.
You can't provide attorneys for terrorists and against soldiers and expect good results. They don't play by our rules. Democrat sabatoge, is the real problem. It would have already finished, but they encourage the terrorists by dividing the country for their own self promotion within.

Never -- He and mostly a pig by the name of Karl Rove are making a PURELY POLITICAL CALCULATION WITH THE LIVES OF US SOLDIERS by looking to pass this whole debacle over to the next president and blame HIM for the pile of dog doo THEY got us into.
