I have had 2 blighted ovums and they suck. They take tooooo long to take care of themselves. I would have the D&C and get it over with. I greived a long time after my two and we went on to have 1 more little girl. She is 6 now and our "little miracle" as I was not supposed to have any more after the 2 miscarriages. I would not let "nature" take its course. I bled for 3-4 days before they determined the first time around it was a blighted ovum and not a normal pregnancy. My doctor told me I could bleed for up to 6 WEEKS. I opted out of that....who wants to miscarry over a 6 week time frame??? I had the D&C both times and bled for just a day or two afterwards which emotionally was better for me.
I am sorry for your loss and hope you feel better soon!!!

i'm six and a 0.5 weeks pregnant and that i've got had a matching situation. I went to the emergency room final Thursday because of the fact i assumed i replaced into having a miscarriage. i replaced into bleeding, particularly heavy and that i had some particularly undesirable cramps. The ER well being practitioner did some ultrasounds to verify that i did not have an ectopic being pregnant, which i did not. the factor proper to the ultrasound however, replaced into that they won't hit upon a new child in the sack yet. They suggested it replaced into too early. They then did a vaginal examination and found out that my cervix replaced into closed, that's an exceedingly sturdy sign. i don't comprehend the place the blood replaced into coming from then this it replaced into closed, yet that's purely what they suggested. They instructed me just to take it hassle-free and take a inspect to handle the discomfort. So now I could wait till next week to pass see my OBGYN the place she is going to do yet another ultrasound to attempt and hit upon a new child. So i'm fairly lots in the precise comparable boat as you. I even have examine on the information superhighway a pair of lot of being pregnant stuff, and apparently bleeding is a lot extra undemanding which you're able to think of, which you're able to truthfully be purely nice. sturdy success! My suggestion to you is that purely because of the fact you're bleeding, it would not advise which you're having a miscarriage, or which you will miscarry. i'm including you to my contacts, i desire to nicely known how this seems for you.

Oh, you have just taken me back about a month.. I did not have a blighted ovum, but a regular miscarriage.(8weeks). Once I found out, it took a week and a half for it to kick in and have the miscarriage. Before you do a d&c, ask your doc if he can put you on methajone or some other drug to start you..Unless you want a d&c.. then, that's up to you...
It is amazing how we cling to our other children during this time...I am so sorry for your loss!

Unfortunately blighted ovums can takes a while to resolve and not cause a misscarriage for several weeks. I also had a blighted ovum. I was treated as though I had an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy and was given methotrexate to "treat" the preganancy. The methotrexate attacks fast growing cells (like a fetus or cancer) and can resolve the pregnancy faster hopefully eliminating the need for a D&C. Ask your doctor about it. I am sorry for your losses.

I am sorry for your loss.
You're likely to miscarry by the end of your first trimester, though it may happen earlier than that. The miscarriage process can take weeks, though, and once you find out you aren't carrying a baby, you may find it's too emotionally wrenching or physically uncomfortable. If that is the case, you can discuss a D&C with your doctor.
My heart goes out to you, best of luck.

I don't know anything about miscarrying, but I would suggest that you go take a little ride down to your OB/GYN doctor. She/He should be able to give you more information than many or most people on here. I hope everything works out for the best.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss! I've known others with similar situations and often it does take awhile for nature to take its course. Please keep in touch with your doctor and do whatever is needed to stay healthy for your 3 beautiful children.
