The only Pontiac recomending premium in 2006 was the GTO, IIRC. Maybe the Grand Prix GXP? Anyway, check your owners manual. If it says 'Premium Fuel Recommended' you may run regular, it will just not perform up to its potential.

BTW, I run regular in my GTO all the time.

Most vehicles only require regular gas. If the factory suggests running premium fuel, it will be printed on the fuel guage on the dash. Almost every car that GM makes did not require this gas though. The ones that did were usually turbo or supercharged motors from the factory. Good luck.

It all depends on what your car requires. If your driver's manual specifically state that your car must use premium then you must use it or engine problems may occur. If by plus you mean mid-grade gas then it should not be a problem.
