Of course G W Bush capped the reserves and is selling the glut to other Countries to drive the costs up because of the $6.00 dip per barrel. Record oil profits during war times should be your example, It will be viewed as war crimes come 08 elections.

Not necessarily. Oil is a NON-RENEWABLE source of energy. The higher the cost of gasoline the greater the incentive to find alternative fuels.

Well, quit blaming the government. Individuals create the excuse of 'supply and demand'.
If people would truly not drive, unless necessary, it would decrease quickly. Too selfish to do your part folks?

I fail to see who the record gets pinned to.
Everything has gone up. Milk, eggs, bread, candy bars...
Are we dumb enough to think that this is not also true with fuel. You raise minimum wage and now consumers have more money to purchase with thus retailers charge more. We are supplying gas to at least 12 million more people than we should, also raising the price.
