ODESSA (German: Organisation der ehemaligen SS-Angehörigen, "Organization of Former SS-Members") is the name commonly given to an international Nazi network alleged to have been set up towards the end of World War II by a group of SS officers. Some historians, while acknowledging that there were secret postwar organisations of former SS members, deny that any organisation called ODESSA ever existed.

A lot of american towns is called by the places where the settlers came from. Odessa is a large city in Ukraine. I want to know why is the nazi odesa named after a city in ukraine :). By the way, Odessa(US) is probably older than 50-60 years, so it couldn't be named for your cited reason.

If you are referring to Odessa, Texas, it was named after the Russian Black Sea port of Odessa, not the Nazi group.

Odessa is in Ukraine. If you knew anything about the USA's history, you would know that many Ukrainians came to the US in the early 20th Century.
