With all due respect to his career, this guy has, what, two maybe three brain cells. Henderson trying to complete a simple sentence is like, well, I don't know what it would be like. He's never done it!!! In his particular case would it be better if someone actually gave it for him? I'm not trying to be funny (except for the three brain cell comment. I'm sure he has at least 10 or 12). This could be a real issue one day. What's your thoughts?

Hey Mike M, I've heard that story before from more than one person. He probably doesn't even know who the president is.
Marvel, He will need every minute of those 5 years to prepare a speech. lol
Downfall, You're probably right. As I remember he is the original third person!

Well, I think it would actually be a hilarious speech, since he talks in 3rd person. I think it would go something like this....

Rickey thanks you. Rickey stole lots of bases, that's why Rickey's here. Rickey thanks the Oakland Athletics, cocaine, and Nike for making Rickey go fast. Ricky gonna look good on the wall in the hall.

something like that any, it cracks me up the way he talks. He definitely should look into having someone give his speech for him, or at least have someone write it for him.

Rickey does have unique speech, but he's not stupid. He is now a coach for the New York Mets, and claims hes trying to get a spring training invite to a team or 30 next year.

Personally I hope a team picks him up, then we'll have five more years to worry about his hall of fame induction.

I think it's hit or miss with Rickey. I've seen times wherein he was very articulate and in other times like you said at a loss for words.

I think that Rickey knows he has this problem and more than likely will practice is hall of fame speech repeatedly to avoid any embarrassing moments.

You know, I believe I have to agree with you. I once read where Rickey never knew the names, with the exception on one or two, of the players on all the teams he played with. I believe he is in a world all of his own. Might tune in to the induction just to hear what he has to say. Somebody better tell him where he is before he goes to the podium.

ricky henderson doesn't need a hall-of-fame speech. his number speak for themselves. all time steals leader. leads almost every oakland A's hitting category. he can walk up and say "thanks" and walk away

Sounds like our President, and he seems to get by with it.
