We got our first TV around 1958 and of course it was black and white. We listened to records, played outside with friends. Baseball with neighbor kids daily in warm weather, ice skating in cold.Going to the swimming pool or swim club. picking berries, asparagus, and morels with the family. Visiting friends in the country, Board games we played alot. Some movies but they cost 15 -25 cents. Go to the neighborhood grocery store. Had a 25 cent allowance per week. Over all had a real spanky good time. Wish it was still like that. The grandpas, dads and sons sometimes hunted together.Probably only watched about 1 to 2 hours of tv on any given day unless we were home sick.

There were huge political, social and cultural changes in the 1960's. It was a very exciting time to live. The 1960's had some of the best literature, movies and music and they were enjoyed by all. Card and board games, reading, biking, swimming, camping, traveling and family and church events were very common. Baseball, television and Barbies were extremely popular.
