Seem to be many on this site that regularly insult Carter and Clinton yet get upset when Bush is insulted. Is there an unwritten rule? Do you think the people insulting Carter and Clinton now expressed their displeasure with these presidents when they were serving?

Here's my rule ... if a president consistently shows no respect for the office then he is not entitled to the respect of the American public.

So that pretty much makes W fair game.

I refuse to stand up for a President that has a lower IQ than my 6 year old. Any Republican who does not think that their President has a few screws loose, has got another thing coming. I would stand up for MY President if he was a true President, not just a madman trying to settle his daddys vendetta. But to put all of the US on the front line for Oil is a bullshit reason to start a war. We got Sadaam, but why can't we catch bin Laden? Cause he works with the Bush Family.
Catch him and no more $$$ for the Bushes.

JERKS!!!!!!

You can insult whoever you want.
You're talking about individuals having a problem - that's personal, not general.
Trust me - I think it's safe to say that most people don't mind you insulting the current President.

No...
Its okay to be critical of the administration,...but be logical about your assertions. There are a lot idiots on Y/A that bash Bush but offer not reasonable counter for why they disagree. Its all emotional based.

Carter and Clinton....have in the past been notorious for speaking out and blaming others. Their behavior is indicative to someone who doesn't take a whole lot of responsiblity. Their actions speak for themselves.

Again 'Weak' people defend Carter and Clinton because they both were 'Weak' leaders. You ever heard the saying 'Misery loves company'? That applies to 'Weak' people too. They support each other to make themselves feel good. Thats not logical..Thats emotional.

If you are 'Weak' then get stronger...but don't knock other people down to raise your self-esteem.

Where do you live that nobody insults Bush? I see parodies and the like about him on a daily basis. Not to mention the verball/written attacks on his policies you see everyday in the media.

Speaking the truth is not insulting. Calling someone a "chimp?" Can you detect the difference?

That is partisanship, notice you didn't put Reagan in as a past president that is insulted.

It is fine to insult anyone....If it wasn't, Jay Leno and David Letterman would be in prison.
