Windows shows the drive in the device manager, and the BIOS shows it. I have done driver updates, still no luck. I no it works with Windows Vista because my Primary HDD is the same.
It is a SATA HDD
The device manager says:
STM3250820AS ATA Drive

If the second hard drive coontains an "active" partition then that may cause the issue.
I would suggest booting from a partitioning software CD & formatting the newer hard drive.
If you do not have such as CD try this one ...it's free:

slightly previous due yet under no circumstances improve to Vista wait till you purchase a clean device and that is pre-put in. purely google the errors code and it will take you to a internet site the place it is going to inform you waht the code skill and hoe to repair it (if attainable)
