The Battle of Evermore. Jimmy Page wrote the music on a mandolin he borrowed from John Paul Jones. He had never played the mandolin before. It's also the only song that was recorded with a guest vocalist. Alot of the songs off Led Zeppelin III had the mandolin in it. I think this is the one you are thinking of because "The Battle of Evermore" is driven my the madolin.
