My house is the best!! haha...Actually, people like to call our house a bed and breakfast when they stay here because we make such good breakfasts. So, I hardly ever go out for breakfast.
Since you asked for no franchises, I really don't have any other place, because I only go to a franchise when I do go out for breakfast.

Pop's it's a local restaurant that is considered a landmark in my neighborhood. It's a family run business and the owners are sweethearts! Not only do you get a delicious breakfast from them, but an enjoyable conversation about most anything as well!
It's hard for me to choose just one thing that is great there. Everything and I do mean everything is delicious! But I often get their waffle sundaes b/c it combines to of my favorite things to eat---waffles and ice cream!

There's quite a few little cafes and holes in the wall down in the city area. This is where I live now. My hometown is NYC and I like the delis there.

In San Antonio, just head to any taqueria (local franchises would be Taco Cabana or Las Palapas) and order breakfast tacos. You will not be disappointed.

Annie's . . . it's a mom and pop diner kinda place. Best breakfast I've ever had. And that's saying a lot, considering all the places there are to choose from in Chicago. They have a cheese, mushroom, green pepper and onion omelette to die for . . . yum.
Maybe I'll have to make a special trip. =)

Only one cafe in town....it's called the Kountry Korner Kafe. It's really good. Everything on the menu....or at least everything I've tried. They make the best pancakes & homemade maple syrup :D

There is a little hole in the wall place called Main St Cafe. Everything is homemade.
