In a world where some countries still consider women to be second classed citizens, having a woman president does not put forth the image of a strong nation.

With the feminization of America, only recently have women taken roles as warrior and sometimes I'm not sure if that's a good thing because in all cases, it's the male role to protect the female and the female role to be protected.

In my view, no matter how much America accepts the idea of having a woman leader, the world won't view it as being strong.

Look throughout history and you will find few, if any, successful nations that were matriarchys.

I don't think gender makes a better leader. If you're hinting at Clinton as being a better leader, think again.

Ultimately I'd love to say that we had a female President in this country but I dont think it's going to happen in 2008.

What's more important in a presidential election is that the leader is capable, intelligent and looking out for the greater good of the American public and abroad.

I'll be honest, no I don't. I'm not saying a woman couldn't lead our country, I'm just saying I don't think being a female would automatically make her better at the job. To be perfectly frank, I think a woman would have to work harder to be considered a good president. There are countries in this world that still consider woman to be inferior to men, and that would be a big hurdle to overcome.

It depends on the female. Some would do quite well while others not very well at all. It is the same with male presidents, some have done well while others have not.

A woman could be just as good or bad a president as a man can. I don't see why gender would be a factor in deciding who is best fit to run this country.

The problem is that those who most want to be president are the last people who should be.

Gender is irrelevant, so long as it is the ambitious and self serving that seek the office, it will be the ambitious and self serving who get the office.

It doesn't matter if our next president is male or female, at this point, my goldfish would make a better president.

i dont think gender should enter into it at all...if the person is qualified and can do the right thing by the people of this nation and others, then vote her in...if not then skip it and actually vote for the right person for the job...
