I went through this, I told the girl I couldn't handle her nagging and drama queen personality all the time so we stopped talking but now, 3 years later I feel really bad for not sticking by her and being a proper friend so I asked her to meet up with me a few weeks ago and we got on like a house in fire! Pushing her friendship away just because of her flaws (which everyone has, even you!) was one of the most unfriendly things I've ever done and I won't be doing it again!

Your a smart girl to not indulge yourself in the drama of others, Kudos! As U stated "she does not realize" your avoiding her..tippie toe your self away from her is a good plan. However, my guess, being that she is a drama queen she will make a production out of the fact that you are no longer emotionaly avable to her, hence more drama. Good luck

Tell her that you realize she has a lot going on in her life right now, and that while you respect that, and appreciate her trust in you to tell you every tiny detail, that right now your life is demanding more of your attention. Then just back out, as fast or slow as you wish. And you can choose to still check in with her ever once in awhile, or not, it's really up to you, but if you kindly tell her, and not make it seem like everything is her fault, you've done your part. Good luck.

It's important to realize when you are in a unhealthy friendship/relationship, and make the necessary adjustments to terminate such friendships. These friendships are called "Toxic".
Just tell her in real simple terms, you are ending the friendship because you feel it is the best thing for you.
Good Luck

Tell her the truth. Tell her that you like her as a person, but you can't deal with all her drama, because you're not getting anything out of this friendship at all - you're just acting as her sounding board.
She needs to realise that she's being selfish and...well...really quite boring.

Just say I am getting too bust to keep you as a close friend. I have much more taking time in my life right now. I need to move on to other things. I will remember you, and maybe we can get together sometime in the future to catch up on things.

Well, you tried slowing breaking away and that didn't work so I would just tell her that you want to move on. You just can't take the drama of being her friend!
Good Luck!

I can understand drama...but I'm not really sure why you think she is crazy or the reason that you should end the friendship only because she is a talker.
Don't burn your bridges. But, you can take other roads.

Just cut her off- and hope she will get the idea. But if you really dont care at all about her just tell her to leave you alone. Say you have a lot going on right now and your too busy for her. But I like the cut off method better... it always works!
