I just came from having an ultrasound and the tech began to kind of sit on one spot around my uterus. When she was done she said that there is a build up of fluid around my right ovary and uterus. And of course, she said that she was not a doctor so she could not diagnose (sp?) me. None the less she has left me FREAKING out! If there is anyone that may know why she would say this please help ease my nerves.

laws are different state to state , but most don't allow techs to reveal results .

that having been said ...its sounds to me like you may have had a ruptured cyst. This is VERY common and not much to worry about . Your doctor will more than likely order a re-peat scan in 6 weeks or so to follow up for resolution of the periovarian fluid .

A tech has no business telling you anything about what they see or feel in an ultrasound! In fact, she should be fired for that! Don't worry. You need to wait to see what the Doctor says about it! Good Luck!

actually prior to ovulation it is normal for fluid to build up around an ovary, it helps the egg get to the fallopian tube.

Why were you having an ultrasound done? Are you trying to get pregnant? You need to include more info.
