A black hole is created in the middle of a galaxy when a large sun collapses . The gravity acceleration continues until the material reaches the speed of light. Then the mass changes to a mass of infinity. That generates a gravity well that can be 100 light years across.

Blackholes originate from stars that have spent all there fuel in nuclear fusion and whose mass is 1.44 times that of sun. When all the fuel of the star is consumed the star starts to collapse under the influence of its own gravitational field into a highly dense mass which is completely concetrated at a single point, called the singularity. The balckhole's gravitational field is so strong that not even light can escape from the field of the blackhole. It distorts the space time around it by creating a strong curvature of the space. A black hole is an object with a gravitational field so powerful that a region of space becomes cut off from the rest of the universe – no matter or radiation (including light) that has entered the region can ever escape. As not even light can escape, black holes appear black (resulting in the name for these objects).

A black hole is an object in space with gravity so strong that not even light can escape from it. Most black holes are formed after an extremely large star ends its life.
